gap shearling.

The Gap friends and family weekend just ended, but not before i scooped up this killer shearling denim jacket.

The jacket is still available, and gap is always having deals, so it's not too late to find one for yourself for fall.

bmw motorrad vision next 100.

BMW has created the motorcycle of the future. Like, if you took the bikes from TRON and removed all the flourescent lighting, this is what you'd be left with.

Along with the bike come a riding suit and a specially designed goggle/visor system that syncs with the bike to display relevant riding information as well as warnings and computer intelligence.

I'm not sure how big of a hit the suit is going to be, but the bike and the technology behind it are pretty cool.

Nike x acronym.

let me introduce you to nike's latest collaboration with acronym - the air presto mid collection.

As per usual, they're near impossible to find. They retail for around $200, but the only place you're likely to find them is on eBay for around $400+. Good luck with that.

    your yeezys are probably fake.

thanks to technology, limited product runs, cheap manufacturing, and consumers with no attention to detail, the market for fake yeezys has exploded all over the internet. So now you're thinking, "yeah, but how does that affect me? I'm no sucker."

Wrong. If you've purchased "yeezys" on ebay, amazon, or some random site on the interwebz, you might be a sucker without even realizing how much of a sucky sucker you are. Turns out the fake yeezy industry is getting closer and closer to the real thing, and sometimes it's tough to tell...if you're a sucker.

So here are the differences (besides the obvious fabric and color knockoffs) between fakes and the real deal, so that you can tell if you've been bamboozled or not. Or better yet, how to tell if you're about to get bamboozled, so that you can avoid said bamboozling:

    Heel Tab

note the difference in the spacing between the two.

    Toe Stitching

On the real yeezy, you can see the uniform repeating pattern of an 'x' and then a square. On the fake, the stitching is a hot mess.

    yzy logo and adidas logo

the real logos are centered, understated, and significantly smaller than the rip-offs.

    Insoles

notice the obvious difference in quality here. The originals have a black on black logo with a much more detailed bottom sole built for breathability and cushion. The Imposter is just a hunk of foam.

    bottom lining

the yeezys have a lining that covers all stitching in the bottom sole of the shoe. The fakes have exposed stitching and fabric seams making the shoes look like an unfinished science project.

    size tag

I mean, the fakes say "sample" in the size tag for crying out loud!

    box

yes, even the box is unique.

You've now been educated on how to avoid a bamboozling. You may use this knowledge to protect your wallet, and relentlessly judge those around you. You're welcome.

    abc's of men's fashion 61.

    bomber.

In World War I, most airplanes did not have an enclosed cockpit, so pilots had to wear something that would keep them sufficiently warm. The U.S. Army officially established the Aviation Clothing Board in September 1917 and began distributing heavy-duty leather flight jackets; with high wraparound collars, zipper closures with wind flaps, snug cuffs and waists, and some fringed and lined with fur.

The modern "bomber" or "flight" jacket is fashioned after the ma-1 -- a now-obsolete U.S. military jacket, which is mostly found in sage green. Generally, the ma-1 was made with flight silk nylon and usually had a blaze orange lining, with the specification tag in the pocket.

Without abandoning tradition and the expert craftsmanship of the military original, today's garment has been streamlined and reimagined to suit modern life and tastes while keeping key elements of volume, shape and surface.

Generally constructed of lightweight nylon bonded jersey, a modern day equivalent of the fabric used to keep pilots warm at high altitudes. With ribbed cuffs, a cinched waist, internal detailing and finished with polished gunmetal trims, the end result provides a practical outerwear piece which is understated and cool.

    adidas - nmd 'pitch black'.

adidas just released their NMD - "Pitch Black" sneaker.

Yes, they are very cool. What's not cool is that they only released 100 pairs of them, and are using the release as a marketing ploy... real cool, Adidas.

In order to get a pair, there was a whole snapchat process required that meant you had to annoy your friends on yet another social media platform just to enter a contest that you 100% were never going to win. Come on, adidas, just make enough shoes and pay for your marketing like everybody else does.

    smh.

    necking.

one of the summer's trends in the world of men's fashion is the nerckerchief. I've always been a big supporter of the back pocket square/bandana as it's a timeless, functional, and simple option. But the neckerchief requires a bit more caution and care to execute.

While still timeless and classic, rocking a neckerchief is not as simple as throwing a bandana in your back pocket. What you don't want to do is look like a lame cowboy (unless you're lame and a cowboy), or a wannabe fake billionaire who sports ascots (unless you're a wannabe or a fake, or a billionaire).

Bandana selection is crucial in avoiding embarrassment--go simple and classic in color and pattern. Neckerchief knot selection also plays a big part in this since you most likely don't want to look like a 12 year-old boy scout (unless you're 12 or a boy scout).

When in doubt, just don't even try it. The neckerchief is definitely an accessory for someone confident they can pull it off. But when it's done well, it's killer (see pretty much any picture taken for the brooklyn circus guys over the past year).

    good luck.

    rodney mullen.

A friend of mine is convinced that skateboard style is going to come back into the fashion spotlight in the very near future. I sincerely hope that doesn't include Volcom cargo shorts and puffy dvs sk8er shoes.

However, given that there are a few solid brands that are taking part of the skate community like Brixton, nike, and adidas, there may be hope.

In honor of this hope, here's a rad new video of rodney mullen.
