mint chocolate chip ice cream.

No summer of mine is complete without a little ice cream. I decided I should make some homemade ice cream, but by that I really mean Kelli should make some homemade ice cream. There was no way we were going to make a basic flavor like vanilla or chocolate so we decided on mint chocolate chip – smart. Maybe some other time we'll make vanilla, but probably not chocolate; sorry I'm not sorry. The runner's up were coconut, which we made later, and peach. I'm sure you can see why we went with mint chocolate chip first. An ice cream maker makes this process a whole heck of a lot easier, so you should probably invest in one if you choose to make your own homemade ice cream. I promise you, you wont regret the investment. We’re very happy with our first batch of homemade ice cream. We wolfed it down and we're ready to make some more. Any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated. Maybe James is onto something with that chocolate dipped bacon. Who knows?

Pizza Night.

It's a pizza party! The other night I had a few people over to make pizza. My other half Kelli, My best friend Jose, and his awesome girlfriend Ayden all came over to partake in the festivities. If you've never made pizza in the comfort of your own home, get on that! To tell you the truth, it's not 100% home made. I mean I didn't make the dough or the sauce or the cheese, but I don't work in an Italian pizzeria, study at a culinary arts school, or live on a farm. Who really has the time to be that authentic? Have you ever made bread? Because I have and it takes a hours, and who's got time for that when you're in a pizza-eating mood?  Anyway, back to my delicious home made pizza and our pizza party. As I started preparing the ingredients and the pizza-making process actually began, I felt like Giada De Laurentiis on the Food Network with a live audience. Alright, maybe I’m stretching it a little bit, but I did feel a little pressure to make sure the pizza turned out as tasty as possible, or at least edible. I’m no stranger to cooking by any means, but I wanted to impress my friends and make sure my creation didn't turn into something gross that they’d be forced to eat out of politeness. I rolled out the dough and decided to make it a stuffed crust pizza, so I wrapped the dough around a few mozzarella sticks and viola! Stuffed crust! Then I sauced it, cheesed it, and tossed it in the oven. A few minutes later, we had our pizza. It was cooked to perfection. I can say that with the utmost confidence because everyone that partook in my glorious Italian treat agreed. I have three witnesses that will gladly tell you just how delicious and tasty that pizza was; go ahead and ask them if you want. Our pizza party was a success, next time I’m thinking pasta night. Who’s down? Get at me.
