"there are things out there that I appreciate on other people that i wouldn't wear myself because I know it wouldn't be an authentic representation of myself."

I do believe a man should put his clothes on thoughtfully, but the end goal is to not look like you've been overly conscious to the way you're dressing."

"Style is about illustrating who you are in what you wear."

"fashion is really just the thing you say without opening your mouth; the thing you say by how the clothes lay on your body and what textures and rhythms, and even words, say on your clothing."

"i think style is curation -- i think it's choosing the parts that tell your story best. it takes a little bit of effort to dress yourself in a way that reflects who you are as a takes a little bit of care even though you want it to look like it's no big thing."

"you have to take a little bit of a stand of are you gonna be the type of person that dresses like everyone else, or is there something about you that might want to express yourself a little bit...?"

fashion profile - Sam Way.

"Is there a philosophy about how you should dress? um, yeah. I mean, find your own style. Everyone is an individual, and your clothes should resonate and give sort of a glimpse of who you are...

...We can't help but judge people straight away, we do it all the time. So, being able to give someone a sense of who you are just by the way you look--I think that should be the philosophy."

"'Style', means a way of living, I think, which is transcendant of dressing, and the clothing becomes important tools  to access that lifestyle."

"When we start to try to pick them out and understand them (trends), they're no longer trends."

fashion profile - justin o'shea.

Justin O'Shea is a street style king. He's in the upper echelon of style right next to Nick Wooster in my book. The man has ridiculous style that seems to come effortlessly. Originally the man is from Australia, but now lives in London, England where his style is right at home. He's usually spotted rocking a well tailored suit, some shoes you'll want and his signature sunglasses. Check this dude out and take notes because you'll definitely learn a thing or two when it comes to style from Justin O'Shea. I've also added a video he was featured in below for a gin company. He explains a little bit of where his style comes from and what he's about.

Julien Tuan - French-born founder of Waiting for the Sun.

"Some people have style, and they're just like fake. They're definitely not who they try to pretend. When a style fits someone, it's just like, you don't have to buy style."

THE ABC OF MENS FASHION - JULIEN TUAN from Hardy Amies on Vimeo.

"I can't just wear what a friend of mine is wearing. It's probably good on him and nice because it's his style, but it's not mine."

fashion profile - Jack Lowe.

Jack Lowe is the founder and director of North London based store and magazine, HUH
"I think the man can make the clothes in the way that they put things together; the way that you pair stuff; the way that you put together a whole outfit. But then I also believe that you should dress for the life that you want, rather than the life that you have, so that's the clothes making the man in that sense."

THE ABC OF MENS FASHION - JACK LOWE from Hardy Amies on Vimeo.

"Style is timeless. If you've got style you have the ability to put stuff together no matter what era you're in, or what the particular trends are for that time. You can always tell if someone's got style, no matter what."

"You don't want to have a uniform on. You don't want to look like you've thought about it too much. Just think about it a little bit and then also live your life. Don't get caught up and try to only be about the outfit, you know, just live."

"You are the personification of your fashion, it should be something that is unique to you. It should be something that communicates to other people what kind of guy you are."

- James

fashion profile - jesse boykins III.

"I could put on a pair of $2 pair of pants and be the flyests of all time... that's the mind frame you have to have, style goes along with confidence."

"It's about you expressing yourself... I don't really care about what anybody thinks about me or if i'm dressing like everybody else, moreso than someone looking at me and understanding the kind of person I am from what they see, from my style." - Jesse Boykins III, R&B/soul singer/songwriter.
