Adidas x hender scheme

adidas and hender scheme have announced an ongoing collaboration partnership with this run of three silhouettes being the first line. Only 900 units of each design will be released, which means you can expect it to be way out of a normal person's price range ~$1000 each (each pair, not each shoe - that would be silly).

No, you're not going to buy these, but collaborations are cool so I'm showing you anyway.

reebok is slightly less terrible now.

It's no secret that the only reason Reebok still exists is because they latched onto the crossfit bandwagon before it exploded, and promptly became the sole sponsor of the UFC. They're finally managing to breathe some new life into the brand.

I'm not saying you should go out any buy stock in the brand, nor am i recommending that you gear up with ufc reebok training gear or any of that noise.

But these throwback reebok gum sole shoes are dope, so that's something slightly less terrible than the previous 10 years of reebok.

You can grab them at Champs or, like, any major reebok dealer probly.

all saints sale.

Because paying $360 for a 100% leather All Saints jacket is way better than paying $700 for one. yeah, you're welcome.

outdoor style garb.

Prepping for my Yosemite trip has me obsessed with outdoor style right now--even mixed into everyday attire. Check out this Style Garb layout from Uncrate that emphasizes my point.

RRL Barringer Leather Jacket ($1,900).
Simon Miller Sweatshirt ($185).
Journal Standard Work Shirt ($126).
Raleigh Denim Alexander Jeans ($285).
Danner Stumptown Mountain Light Boot ($360).
Sneerwell Casket Flask ($65).
Biltwell Gasolina Reserve Gas Tank ($20).
Salt Optics Leif Sunglasses ($475).
Iron & Air 15/16 Bundle Pack ($15).
1970'S Enicar Sherpa Guide 600 Watch ($1,150).
Cordero Motorcycle Gloves ($45).

Now, for my purposes, I'd be swapping the flask for a pocket knife or multitool, and the leather jacket for something waterproof or a down jacket, but you get the idea.

Style is all about combining the things you love, however different they may be.

covered in leather.

the leather jacket should be a staple in every well-dressed man's closet. And if you want a quality leather jacket that fits well and follows current fashion trends, you can't beat the england-based allsaints.

I'll warn you ahead of time: a quality, authentic leather jacket is not going to be cheap, but you get what you pay for.

allsaints fits pretty true to size, so you can feel safe buying online. That being said, if you're going to be dropping that kind of cash, it makes sense to find a store and try it on first. Your call.

rotate your kicks.

If you can help it, don't wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row. In order to fully dry out your shoes after use, you should be rotating with at least one other pair. This will greatly increase the lifespan of your shoes. It's also an excellent excuse to buy another pair.

This, should be something you do in addition to your normal shoe care routine (i.e. shoe trees, polish, etc).

belting.

Originally, the purpose of a belt (and suspenders/braces) was to keep your trousers from falling off your body. Now granted, in those days, when this was the entire purpose, pants didn't come in quite as many styles, and so they also didn't always fit too well.

Today, if you're a grown man, you should be capable of buying a pair of pants that fit yourb ody and do not require a belt to stay on your body. This is one of the reaosns we still don't consider Justin Beiber a man.

So what is the purpose today? While there may still be some requirement to making pants stay put, given minor fluctuations in wheight and whatnot, the main purpose is to pull an outfit together, and give it a more finished and complete look. So here are some tips:

Sizing: a belt's size is "measured from the buckle to the mid hole – which is where it should be fastened, allowing for slightly higher or lower waist trousers and the natural variations in waist circumference we all go through"

Color: Whenever dressing formally, and often in casual attire, your belt, shoes, and watch band should coordinate colors. Obviously, when wearing a metal-banded watch, I wouldn't suggest weating a metal belt or boots made of steel. There is a bit more leeway in casual wear here. Feel free to wear off-color (generally brightly colored) D-buckle belts or webbed belts as an accent item.

Side note: is it just me or does the guy in this picture ^ in the middle, on the second-to-bottom row look like a young, smirking, bearded Jim Carrey?

Moving on.

Suspenders: Don't you dare wear a belt in conjunction with suspenders or braces. You can't trust a man who can't even trust his own pants.

going beltless: if you think you can pull it off, go for it. Just keep in mind that a beltless look works best on a slender build, with well-tailored trousers. Beltless is always better than a belt too much. I recommend steering clear of heavily branded belts, belts with a lot going on, or anything that looks like it was made by the people makking Affliction shirts.

uniform experiment - python wing tip shoes.

there's something about a solid pair of wing tips that will always beat out sneakers. i don't know what it is, but they win. and then when someone who really knows how to make a solid shoe like uniform experiment, you get these. the python wing tip shoe by uniform experiment is firing. they're made with real leather and have python skin paneling which gives the shoe a unique texture and look. they offer them in two colorways: the natural/black and the monochromatic all black. head over and swoop a pair on their website here

palladium waterproof boots.

As if I didn't like palladium boots enough already, they just released a waterproof line to make them a legitimate hiking boot.

What you probably didn't know about Palladium boots is that they have an amazing history behind them. Palladium was founded in 1920 to make tires for the fledgling aviation industry using canvas layers under vulcanized rubber for added durability.

After World War II, with aircraft manufacturing screeching to a halt, the demand for tires decreased dramatically and so Palladium opened a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France, to start producing footwear that was as hard wearing as their tires.

In 1947 the legendary Pampa boot was born, and the functionality, comfort and durability were so outstanding that the French Foreign Legion adopted it for their use in the harsh desert conditions of North Africa, and throughout the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains.

Blah blah blah history history history. Bottom line...Palladium doesn't mess around. And now with added waterproofing, these boots have become my official hiking boot. Check it

Visit the Palladium Website to grab a pair; I already did.
