slick 50s.

My very favorite time period for men's fashion is the 50s. Greaser culture is the coolest. You know you've seen or read The Outsiders and been like, 'dang, those guys are cool'. The hair, the straight leg denim, the leather and denim jacets, the rulled up cuffs. In the 50s, greaser style took advantage of the basics and absolutely nailed it.

So naturally, we had to do a 50s inspired shoot with our friend Davey.

thrifting in SF.

This year I spent my summer in San Francisco, interning with one of the world's largest clothing retailers. Don't worry, this post isn't about what I did during my internship; I'm not about to layout my life story here. However, as you can imagine, being in San Francisco for three months led to some amazing experiences, and some most-excellent thrifting.

As it turns out, three months is plenty of time to find a handful of thrifting gems. Checkout some of the new (old) threads I picked up.

Unbranded Double-Breasted Coat -$25

PF flyers sandlot edition - $14

timberland 6" zip boot - $41

Levi's made in U.S.A selvedge denim - $17

Cherokee chambray aztec spotted shirt - $6

Banana Republic polka dot shirt - $7

Niico long-sleeved grey henley shirt - $4

Supreme chambray Polka Dot Hat - $4

Old navy green short-sleeved button up - $12

WHen it comes to thrifting, you can't expect to score clutch finds on your first trip--the key is going often. Keep at it, you never know what you'll find. Also, if you're ever in San Francsico, I highly recommend checking out Crossroads Trading Co. They tend to be a little bit pricier than other places, but they also have a much higher quality selection.

pf flyers.

i recently picked up a pair of classic pf flyers from a thrift shop for $16. needless to say, at that price, i couldn't pass them up. I love these classic sneakers. now, any true american will undoubtedly remember pf flyers from the 1993 film The Sandlot. Please please please don't allow that childhood memory be the only thing that defines them in your mind; they've come a long way since then.

since its creation by BF Goodrich over 75 years ago, pf flyers have been premium quality sneakers rooted in classic American style: it's the perfect combination. The name comes form the patented Posture Foundation insole that, in 1933, brought comfort to a whole new level and completely changed the way we look at sneakers. The company was purchased by New Balance in 2001, and after modernizing the Posture Foundation and adding new creative designs, has been gaining momentum ever since.

Don't just take my word for it though. if that wasn't enough, check out this video and listen to what the owner of pf flyers along with the guys from brooklyn circus and street etiquette had to say about the brand on the pop shop tour.
