major lazer - aerosol can ft. pharrell williams.

ready for a new dope video from major lazer? the correct answer is yes.

the latest video for major lazer's track "aerosol can" features mike giant and his handstyle with a little art while pharrell reminds us that he can spit a nasty verse.

i promise you this song will be stuck in your head after you hear it. it'd be weird if it wasn't. i mean it's major lazer (aka diplo) and pharrell. unless you've been under a rock lately you know pharrell is on top of the world right now and you're probably still humming his track "happy" or thinking about that ridiculous hat of his.

enjoy this track with the new visuals and work it into your weekend playlist.

david redon - ads libitum.

i'm always a fan of of clever art. especially when it includes creative ways of combining pop culture with things that aren't normally associated with it.

the latest is david redon’s remake of classic american ads with some of today’s icons. he included the infamous kanye west as well as pharrell williams referencing his latest hit “happy” in the ad. the best part is that david redon is a french artist. so seeing his version of these makes them that much better.

it reminded me of jonny defreest’s pop culture ice creams – big fan of that too.

i haven't seen anything about these being prints for sale anywhere, but i'll update this post if that changes. for now just enjoy the art.

check out more of david redon's work on his tumblr here.

the hat seen 'round the world.

if you saw the grammys you know exactly what i'm talking about.

yep, i'm talking about pharrell's hat.

my first reaction was what the hell?

if you haven't seen it, here you go:

what the hell? right??

Let's put aside the fact that this hat is ugly and looks terrible. That's known and not many people are going to fight me on that statement. What we need to acknowledge is the fact that pharrell had the balls to wear this and try to pull it off. Not many people would ever think about it or even try to wear something like this hat, let alone at an award show where millions of cameras are going to be snapping away.

I don't think pharrell is going to get many people heading out to the stores trying to cop this one, but i think he might get a few people to try their hand in the hat game. Most likely nothing this outrageous though, possibly start with a fedora of sorts. There are a few early adopters that will definitely go for this hat and/or look. they're probably going to look dumb going to look dumb and everyone will tell them 'nice try pharrell', but that's how things, in this case men's fashion, evolve and grow. we'll see, maybe pharrell started a hat epidemic and everyone will look like a canadian mountie in a few months.

This hat did do one thing right – it got everyone and their mothers talking about him. our hats are to you for that one.

daft punk - lose yourself to dance

check out these rad visuals for daft punk's song "lose yourself to dance" done by some crazy sign spinners. if only every sign person had skills like these they might get people interested in what they're promoting. then again, it might be a little difficult to read what the sign says and where to go. pick up daft punk's latest album random access memories and groove to so solid tunes if you haven't already. enjoy
