Adidas x hender scheme

adidas and hender scheme have announced an ongoing collaboration partnership with this run of three silhouettes being the first line. Only 900 units of each design will be released, which means you can expect it to be way out of a normal person's price range ~$1000 each (each pair, not each shoe - that would be silly).

No, you're not going to buy these, but collaborations are cool so I'm showing you anyway.

adidas - eqt.

Meet my current favorite adidas sneakers: the EQT. Just got a pair and they're really really comfy. I'd actually say they're more comfy than the Nike Rosche and have a similar looking profile. I think this is the new Adidas cash cow now that the NMD has been out and about for quite awhile. Look for new colorways coming out constantly.

scoop them up from adidas.com

reebok is slightly less terrible now.

It's no secret that the only reason Reebok still exists is because they latched onto the crossfit bandwagon before it exploded, and promptly became the sole sponsor of the UFC. They're finally managing to breathe some new life into the brand.

I'm not saying you should go out any buy stock in the brand, nor am i recommending that you gear up with ufc reebok training gear or any of that noise.

But these throwback reebok gum sole shoes are dope, so that's something slightly less terrible than the previous 10 years of reebok.

You can grab them at Champs or, like, any major reebok dealer probly.

Nike x acronym.

let me introduce you to nike's latest collaboration with acronym - the air presto mid collection.

As per usual, they're near impossible to find. They retail for around $200, but the only place you're likely to find them is on eBay for around $400+. Good luck with that.

adidas - nmd 'pitch black'.

adidas just released their NMD - "Pitch Black" sneaker.

Yes, they are very cool. What's not cool is that they only released 100 pairs of them, and are using the release as a marketing ploy... real cool, Adidas.

In order to get a pair, there was a whole snapchat process required that meant you had to annoy your friends on yet another social media platform just to enter a contest that you 100% were never going to win. Come on, adidas, just make enough shoes and pay for your marketing like everybody else does.

smh.

fuggit - lounge in style.

gone are the days where your home slippers were required to ugly and childish. No longer must you warm your feet with furry dinosaurs that roar with each step, or with moccasins that are only reaching low-medium comfort levels. Uggs? No thanks! Crocs? GTFO!

Feast your eyes on the fuggit air mags:

Finally, someone found a good reason to crochet without being compared to an elderly woman surrounded by cats and grandchildren.

These things are handmade by one man, with the goal of "ending sneaker violence". What is sneaker violence, you say? No, it is not the name given to turf wars between different gangs of sneakers, but the acts of senseless violence to obtain coveted sneakers from someone else. Fuggit's plan is to "make the shoes, sell them, and take proceeds from that and buy sneakers to give away. No gimmicks, no raffles, no nothing." The aim for Fuggit is to defuse some of the coveted and limited status of popular designs that are clearly linked to the violent crimes.

Stop by Fuggit's website and pick up a pair of knit kicks. Not feeling the air mags? No worries, Fuggit also produces lines of Jordans, Yeezys, and other designs.

nike presto flyknit.

Nike has released a much more attractive update to the presto shoe--The nike air flyknit presto ultra.

It seems like a handful of nike shoes are getting the ol' ankle-sock upgrade treatment lately, so I've got to assume it's been received well thus far. I know I love my soccer cleats with the ankle boot, so it stands to reason that I'd be into it with a runner or casual shoes as well.

This thing looks breathable AF, and comfy too--made out of knit that looks like a dang crocodile skin from the top.

  • Flyknit upper conforms to your foot for lightweight support
  • Signature TPU cage delivers midfoot support
  • Sockliner and sole cut-outs enhance breathability and flexibility
  • Injected unit sole provides lightweight comfort and durability
  • Mid-cut collar delivers a snug, supportive fit
  • Waffle-inspired outsole with durable rubber pods for traction

  • I imagine this will come in other colorways but for now, I'm all about that white on white. Daaaayyyyuummmmm Nike, back at it again with the white prestos.

    Thank Pharrell, not Kanye.

Adidas AG executives are decidedly happy these days, thanks to Pharrell Williams.

While they were throwing euros at Kanye West and letting him run amok in the design department, the sober heads in Herzogenaurach, Germany, pulled out a 45-year old basketball shoe called the Superstar and put it in Pharrell’s hands. Adidas declared 2015 "the year of the Superstar" and in March released 50 color-saturated versions that the soft-spoken pop star touted in rainbow-laced ads.

The result? Adidas just announced that it sold 15 million pairs of Superstars last year, far more than any of its other shoes. In other words, these nondescript kicks from the 1970s have become a billion-dollar business. At $100 or so per pair, they accounted for almost $1 in every $10 Adidas took in last year.

Kanye West may well be king of the special-release sneaker. He is, no doubt, helping Adidas regain some street cred against Nike Inc. But most of the profit in small-batch footwear goes to sneakerheads fortunate to get their hands on a pair and then flip them on secondary markets. Make no mistake: West is playing small ball. All seven of his "Yeezys" to date have sold out "instantly." Meanwhile, he doesn’t come cheap. Tally up the profit and loss, and the Yeezy becomes a marketing exercise more than an immediate moneymaker.

All told, revenue from the Adidas “Originals” line, which includes such vintage stalwarts as Superstar and Stan Smith, surged by 46 percent in the most recent quarter. No other part of the business came close to matching that growth. The company’s soccer gear, tightly hitched to Argentine phenom Lionel Messi, managed a 26 percent gain for the year while its running revenue increased by 6 percent.

    Sometimes, being cool is effortless.
