Entries in tee (4)

gap elongated essential tee.

elongated tees are definitely trending hot right now, but the main issue is that you only have two options to pick one up:

  1. get a cheap-o at H&M or Cotton ON (with a logo), or some similar store
  2. spend way too much on a dang tee shirt for a F.O.G. or other limited-run type brand

Both of these options kind of suck if you're really just buying a tee shirt. Enter option 3:

The Gap Essential tee in "tall" sizes. This isn't necessarily designed as an elongated tee, which is why you're able to get away with grabbing a quality shirt in the fit you want for such a reasonable price.

yes, I'm aware that the shirts in these pictures are not elongated in any way, and that's because the "tall" versions of these shirts are designed to fit normally on a person with a torso that is severely disproportionate to the rest of his/her body. So trust that a "tall" fit on a normal person will give the elongated look.

Gap quality on a trending fit; money.

Click here to see them in the Gap store, and make sure you're using the "tall" tab.

the white t.

you just can't beat the classics. If you haven't already done so, make sure you're stocked up with a few white tees. They come in all kinds of different styles these days, so just make sure you don't go v-neck, and you don't go too short in the torso. The rest is going to be all about preference and matching your own style.

If you're looking to stay on trend, I recommend going a longer in the torso than a normal tee, and making it a scoop neck. But remember--find your own personal style and make it work for you.

victor athletics.

part of my job as a fashion person (any other titles felt self-indulgent and a bit pompous) is to inform you of opportunities so that you don't miss out on things. This is one of those days where I do that thing I just mentioned... you know, the opportunities thing.

Behold, an amazing opportunity: The Victor Athletics Kickstarter project -- Organic, vintage-inspired athletic wear for men & women, made by small-town American factories and delivered directly to you.

Here's the rundown from their kickstarter page:

"In 1980, America made 80% of its clothes in the US; today, that number is down to 2%. The more time we’ve spent in these small-town factories, the more we’ve grown to see these “percentages” as people with families to feed, and mortgages to pay. By choosing to employ rural American factories again, Victor prioritizes how the clothes are sewn. In fact, we’re going even farther by giving 5% of our after-tax profit back to the factory to continue to invest in their workers and combat the impact of outsourcing."

"While conventional cotton occupies only three percent of the world’s farmland, it uses 25 percent of the world’s chemical pesticides and fertilizers. It is the most pesticide-laden crop in the US. Pesticides that are applied to cotton during the production phase can be detected in cotton clothing in chemical residues that affect the wearer. By choosing to use organic cotton, Victor prioritizes your health and the environment."

"Victor makes it easy to feel good about buying our products. Whether you’re motivated by a great fit, bringing jobs back to the US, or purchasing sustainable clothing--- we’ve got you covered. We’re simplifying online shopping by sending a free try-on box to your door, AND pricing clothes directly from the factory to you. A sweatshirt that would typically be $125 is now $65. We are lowering the barrier of entry for more people to join us in changing the market, employing our neighbor at fair wages, for a fair price."

Backing options for this project start at $25 so get over to their page and give 'em a shot.

no time shirt.

i want this shirt from balr.

no time for losers, divers or racism. it' simple and perfect

the only thing i struggle with is pay 75 euros for a t-shirt. that's a little ridiculous for just a tee.

there's still a good chance i'm going to but it anyway, but i hesitate a little.

check it out here and bounce around balr's site while you're there.
