how to create a unique/successful minimalist watch brand.

This. is. gold. I can't take credit for writing this, but it's just so good I had to share it. I think this is happening in a lot of areas besides just minimalist watches, but this is spot on.

every bond watch.

James Bond has got to be one of the most stylish men on the planet. Yes, he's a fictional character, but the dude still knows how to be dressed by a team of professional tailors and designers amirite?

One of the most famous bond accessories, aside from the car, and the gun, and the babe on his arm, is the watch. So, for your viewing pleasure, and that random part of your brain that retains trivial knowledge, here is every watch ever worn by james bond:

get smart.

let me first start by saying there's nothing that can compare to a classic timepiece. That being said, there's no problem with using multiple watches for multiple occasions and purposes. I'm not saying you should strap on 6 watches on your arm at once like a shady street vendor. I'm saying, you should have a respectable watch collection in order to coordinate colors, occasions, and needs.

Assuming you've already started your collection with a a classic piece, let's take a look at the functionality realm of the watch world -- Smart watches.

triwa smartwatch concept.

Although I'm a supporter of innovation and new ideas, and was very intrigued by the announcement of the iWatch, if I'm being honest...I can't really see myself wearing any of those newfangled smartwatches that have been announced.

I just feel like they look a little too futuristic and spacey. Don't get me wrong, I love space, but I am not an astronaut, nor am I planning any trips to distant planets in the near future, which would require me to purchase a space-ready time-keeping device.

I need something a little more classic strapped to my wrist. Apparently designer Gábor Balogh and I are on the same page. Introducing the Triwa smartwatchg concept:

keep in mind this is just a concept, and, as of yet, has had no signs of actually going into production. But if it does, count me in. This watch is based on the design of existing Triwa watches (made in sweeden) which are pretty good looking. Feel free to google them and check out some of their looks.

daniel wellington.

with clean lines and minimal features, the daniel wellington watch exudes class and sophistication while the NATO (colorful nylon) straps allow for creativity, originality and personality.

If you're looking to buy a DW watch, you should probably expect to spend around $200 bucks + 35 x however many interchangeable bands you choose to be able to change it up with.

Stop by the DW website to find out more about the brand, how it got its start, and how you can pick one up.

komono watches.

minimal, classic, and affordable. these are the three words that come to mind when looking at komono watches. granted, they're not going to last you a lifetime like a fine timepiece will, but these watches look fine, and they'll last you long enough.

There's nothing overly flashy about the watch face or the functionality--you're not going to find added dials, stopwatch features, or a built-in spy laser. But unique materials, creative watch band fabrics, and minimalistic designs make these watches standout.

You can plan on a watch face of either 41 or 46mm, and a price tag around $100. Great size and a great price (do not by that 55mm nixon watch that looks like a small satellite on your wrist). Take a look at some of their creative takes on a classic look, and scoop one up.

Stop Here to find the right watch for you and up your time game (is time game a thing? it should be a thing).

strap up.

Regarding men's accessories, the general rule of thumb is that you want to match your belt, watch, and shoes. Meaning, your shoes and belt should be the same color leather, and your watch should be as close as possible.

That being said, youprobably have more pairs of shoes than you do watches, which means it may be impossible to pair every shoe with a watch. While I'm sure that one day you;ll be able to afford to do so, there's a simpler solution in the meantime: Invest in multiple watch bands.

With a few simple pieces of knowledge, the right tools, and some practice, you can swap out watch bands on your watches to more accurately pair your pieces.

Now take a look at the different ways you can wear them.

getting made.

there's just something so manly about making something with your bare hands. Equally exciting, but not quite as manly is watching something get made with the utmost quality. In this case, we'll just have to settle for second best.

Watch the making of a Nomos Glashutte watch.

Watch the making of a rudo y noble axe.

watch the making of jon sarriugarte lighting fixtures

watch the making of a yoshimoto blade

you should probably step up your manliness and start building something.
